Questions From The Bank
What should I wear?+
Quick-drying clothes and secure footwear that can get wet (water shoes, old sneakers, or river sandals with heel straps — no flip-flops). In cooler weather, add a synthetic or wool layer. Bring sunscreen, a hat with a strap, and sunglasses with a retainer. Skip cotton on the river — it stays cold when wet.
Should I bring a change of clothes?+
Yes. You will get wet, guaranteed. Pack a full dry set — including underwear, socks, and shoes — to change into after the trip. A towel and a warm layer are nice to have, especially on cooler days.
What's included with my trip?+
Round-trip transportation from Colorado Springs to the river, a certified guide, riverside lunch, and all rafting gear — top-quality raft, PFD (life jacket), helmet, and paddle.
Where do we meet?+
Wolfpack Rafting c/o Broadmoor Outfitters, 6 Lake Ave (across from the Golden Bee), Colorado Springs, CO 80906. Transportation to the Arkansas River launch site is included.
Is there parking at the meeting location?+
Yes — free parking is available near 6 Lake Ave. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure so we can get you checked in and on the shuttle on time.
How long is the trip?+
Plan on approximately 7 hours total, including transportation to and from the river, safety briefing, time on the water, and lunch.
What are the age and weight requirements?+
Minimum age and weight requirements shift with river flow. In most conditions the minimum age is 8 and minimum weight is 50 lbs, but please call 719.471.6168 to confirm the current requirements for your trip date before booking.
Do I need to know how to swim?+
Strong swimming skills are not required, but you should be comfortable in moving water. Every guest wears a Coast Guard-approved PFD (life jacket) and helmet, and your guide will cover swim technique in the safety briefing before we launch.
How difficult is the rafting?+
Bighorn Sheep Canyon is Class III — perfect for beginner and intermediate rafters. Expect broad, fast water with 1–3 foot whitecaps and calm stretches between the rapids. No experience is required.
Can I bring my phone or camera on the raft?+
We recommend leaving phones and non-waterproof cameras in the shuttle. If you bring one on the water, it must be in a waterproof case tethered to you or the raft. Wolfpack isn't responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
When do I need to book?+
Reservations must be confirmed 48 hours prior to your trip date. Popular dates fill quickly, so book early — especially for summer weekends and holidays.
Do you raft in the rain?+
Yes — you're already going to be wet! Trips run rain or shine. In the rare event of unsafe conditions (lightning, severe weather), we'll reschedule or refund. Safety first, always.
